Overview

Our products include cement, aggregate, ready-mixed concrete, and fly ash beneficiation. TITAN Group has a record of continuous growth since its establishment in 1902. It has expanded its production and distribution operations into 13 countries, employing more than 5,500 people. Our products protect human life and personal property, improve the quality of life, generate economic prosperity, and connect society.

We have an immediate opening for a Lab Specialist in the Aggregates Division located in Medley, FL. This salary non-exempt position is assigned to the Aggregate Lab and will report to the Quality Control Lead Person. This position is responsible for Quality Control of the Pennsuco Aggregate Mine. They will be responsible for the process control, quality control, and quality assurance sampling and testing of daily production. Additionally, they must also provide quality control for verification to all aggregate material shipped from the Pennsuco property. The position will also provide limited support to cross functional teams when needed, such as Sales, Cement QC, Ready Mix, etc. In addition, the position is also responsible to maintain the requirements of the quality management system in accordance to AASHTO R18. The position will be responsible of obtaining and maintaining their ACI & CTQP certifications, along with annual proficiency testing required by FDOT & CMEC.

Responsibilities
  • Sampling and testing of aggregates in order to determine adherence to product specifications.
  • Enter test data on computer database and interpret test results.
  • Release of shipments to be certified to FDOT.
  • Interface with and advises production and load-out personnel on quality matters.
  • Interface and coordinate with FDOT personnel to gather samples and perform check samples.
  • Record and report information in accordance with FDOT requirements.
  • Monitor material handling in order to assure compliance.
  • Communicate respectively trends in test results.
  • Provide technical support to sales, production and customer base.
  • Maintain good working relationships with coworkers and outside agencies' personnel.
  • Keep equipment operated clean and safe.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma, GED or 3 or more years related experience and or training.
  • Safety focused and able to participate in safety centered work culture.
  • Good knowledge of applicable FDOT test methods including ACI Aggregate Field and Laboratory Testing Technician certification or ACI Aggregate Testing Technician Level I certification preferred.
  • Strong mathematical skills, strong interpersonal skills, and ability to communicate effectively.
  • Computer literate in word and excel.
  • Must be able to speak, read and write English fluently. Billingual in Spanish is a plus.
  • Able to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and be able to lift 50 lbs. on a repetitive basis.
  • Must possess a valid FL driver's license.

Shift:

3rd Shift (9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.)  Must be able to work weekends and overtime as necessary.
