Description

As a Cellular System Engineer, you will be responsible for the pre‑ and post‑silicon bring up, and validation of end‑to‑end cellular systems. You will understand and map systems algorithms and requirements to HW/FW architecture, simulation and emulation based validation of the control flows and algorithms.

Responsibilities
  • This position requires strong collaboration with SoC, PHY, RF HW, RF FW, and SW teams to ensure the end‑to‑end system requirements are met. You will also have a critical hands‑on role in pre‑ and post‑silicon verification, validation, and bring‑up of silicon, to support productization.
Minimum Qualifications
  • BS and 3+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Good understanding of communication theory and signal processing, AGC, beamforming, Tx power control, mitigation of radio impairments, and calibration algorithms.
  • Good experience with Matlab, Python, and C/C++ and efficient analysis and automation scripting.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written & verbal especially in a multi‑functional environment.
  • Demonstrate clarity of thought and strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • MSEE or beyond is preferred.
  • Experience in the design and bringup of wireless communication systems with expertise in cellular systems preferred.
  • Strong technical background in 5G‑NR/LTE/UMTS (3G/2G) physical layer and protocols.
  • Hands‑on experience in applying AI/ML techniques on real‑world data sets to tackle sophisticated engineering problems.
  • Experience with silicon prototyping, emulation systems, and virtual platforms is a plus.
  • Hands‑on experience in the bring up of real silicon in the lab. Ability to efficiently use lab equipment (such as spectrum analyzer, signal generator, power meter, etc).

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $139,500 and $258,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
