What You'll Do
Responsibilities:
  • Assisting in the installation and maintenance of overhead lines and cables.
  • Transporting and setting up tools, materials, and equipment at the job site.
  • Ensuring all equipment is in good working condition and reporting any issues.
  • Loading and unloading materials from trucks.
  • Organizing and maintaining inventory of materials and tools.
  • Providing ground support to aerial linemen by handing tools and materials.
  • Operating bucket trucks and other machinery under supervision.
  • Adhering to all safety protocols and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Assisting in setting up safety barriers and warning signs around the work area.
  • Preparing the work site by clearing debris and ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Participating in training sessions to stay updated on safety practices and industry standards.
  • Cleaning up the site after work is completed, including disposing of waste materials properly.
  • Communicating effectively with the aerial lineman and other team members.
  • Reporting any issues or hazards observed during work.

What You'll Bring
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must have a valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
  • Basic knowledge of and ability to operate various types of utility trucks and equipment in a safe manner.
  • Basic knowledge of and ability to use hand tools and equipment in a safe manner.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, employees, etc.
  • Regular and timely attendance is an essential function of this position.
  • May be required to work overtime, after hours, on weekends as needed to ensure work is completed.
  • Travel may be required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Class A Commercial Driver's License (Higher wage scales apply to CDL holders).
  • 6 months of experience in the utility construction industry (preferred).
  • Ability to read prints and interpret utility maps to identify the type and size of underground utilities (preferred).
