Position Summary
Amerco Real Estate Company (AREC), the real estate division supporting U-Haul, is seeking an organized and detail-oriented Lease Representative to join its Phoenix team. This position supports a diverse portfolio throughout the United States and Canada, including commercial, cell tower, and billboard leases.
The Lease Representative will manage third-party lease renewals, amendments, assignments, extensions, and terminations, as well as existing and new cell tower and billboard transactions.
Essential Responsibilities
  • Manage third-party lease renewals, amendments, assignments, extensions, and terminations.
  • Review and draft letters of intent, lease documents, notices, and related agreements.
  • Negotiate business terms within established approval authority.
  • Coordinate legal, financial, operational, and management reviews and approvals.
  • Manage cell tower and billboard lease transactions.
  • Monitor lease expirations, options, notice deadlines, and rent adjustments.
  • Coordinate with tenants, landlords, brokers, attorneys, property managers, accounting teams, and local U-Haul teams.
  • Maintain accurate lease information and records in Yardi and other company systems.
  • Prepare leasing reports and assist with acquisitions, due diligence, audits, lender requests, and special projects.
  • Ensure transactions comply with company policies, internal controls, and approval requirements.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in real estate, business, finance, accounting, legal studies, or a related field preferred.
  • Two or more years of commercial leasing, lease administration, property management, real estate, or contract administration experience preferred.
  • Experience reviewing, negotiating, or preparing commercial lease documents.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple transactions and deadlines independently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Yardi or similar lease management experience preferred.
  • Cell tower, billboard, CAM, operating expense, and property tax experience is a plus.
  • This is a fast-paced position requiring attention to detail, sound judgment, and effective collaboration across multiple departments, locations, and time zones.
