Occupational Therapist (OT) - School-Based Responsibilities
  • Evaluate students to determine functional performance and eligibility for occupational therapy services.
  • Develop and implement individualized occupational therapy treatment plans aligned with IEP goals.
  • Provide direct occupational therapy services in individual and group settings.
  • Address fine motor, visual motor, sensory processing, self-care, handwriting, and functional school participation skills.
  • Collaborate with teachers, families, administrators, and related service providers.
  • Participate in IEP, eligibility, and multidisciplinary team meetings.
  • Recommend adaptive equipment, classroom accommodations, and assistive technology when appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, progress reports, and service logs in accordance with district, state, and federal requirements.
  • Monitor student progress and modify intervention strategies as appropriate.
  • Support students in accessing the educational environment and curriculum.
Qualifications
  • Master's or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Active FL Occupational Therapist license (or eligibility for licensure).
  • NBCOT certification preferred or required based on state requirements.
  • Previous school-based pediatric experience is preferred. Must be willing and comfortable providing supervision to a COTA
  • Experience with IEP development, documentation, and multidisciplinary collaboration preferred.
