The following position is to join our RTX Pratt & Whitney Commercial Engines Communications Team:
Commercial Engines (CE) is Pratt & Whitney's largest business making up more than 50 percent of the annual revenue. RTX Communications is seeking an outstanding candidate to develop and deliver communications strategies and content across the P&W CE portfolio. As a member of the Communications team, you will work with company leaders to help drive business results by providing world-class communications in support of company priorities.
What You Will Do:
  • Serve as the Communications lead for the Pratt & Whitney Mature Commercial Engines business as a member of the leadership team supporting the vice president Mature Commercial Engines.
  • Develop and lead the integrated, Mature Commercial Engines (MCE) communications strategy
  • Support the integrated communications strategy for the GTF and next generation GTF engines, developing near-term and longer-term communications plans
  • Help drive business results through a world-class communications strategy that successfully positions Pratt & Whitney's MCE portfolio.
  • In collaboration with the CE MCE team, develop compelling narratives, messaging, and proof points for Pratt & Whitney's mature commercial engines - including the IAE V2500, the Engine Alliance GP7000 and the PW2000 and PW4000 engines, keeping both internal and external audiences in mind. Lead the deployment of these messages via our communication channels with a 360-degree approach.
  • Build and advance relationships with our global communications industry counterparts, especially at airframers, partners and airline customers.
  • Attend MCE leadership team meetings, providing communications counsel and support on strategic positioning, external presentations, speeches and talking points.
  • Serve as the MCE interface with the Communications function, providing relevant business updates.
  • Work with the CE communications team to support the development and delivery of the GTF and next generation GTF communications strategy, including messages and a compelling multi-channel positioning plan to shape the market.
  • Partner with the Media Relations COE to achieve positive press coverage by leveraging relevant milestones and initiatives and build/advance relations with key media. Plan media interviews and evaluate and report on the resulting coverage. Prepare and secure approval for media statements/Q&As and talking points in around in-service events and technical and business issues.
  • Partner with the Brand Reputation COE to develop and deliver content, messages, creative assets, and events which generate strong engagement with key audiences.
  • Partner with the Internal Communications COE to build employee awareness, alignment, and engagement in support of company objectives. Help develop intranet stories and talking points for internal events, such as leadership town halls.
  • Track communications strategy progress, measuring and reporting out on results, including for the weekly reports and for presentations at communications and business meetings
  • Co-lead the CE integrated communications team meetings, regularly chairing the weekly meetings and designing and leading the agenda
  • Coordinate with international communications colleagues to support the growth and reputation of the commercial engines global MRO network.
  • Manage crisis communications, in partnership with the Public Relations team, for the aftermarket operations business and support crisis communications for the wider commercial engines fleet.

Qualifications You Must Have *
  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, English, public relations, or related field. MBA or MS in business management or communications preferred
  • Strategic thinker and proven leader with strong interpersonal, influencing, and teaming skills, excelling in matrixed organizations.
  • Strong project management, organizational skills, and attention to detail, capable of thriving in fast-paced environments with tight deadlines.
  • Proven track record of delivering successful communications campaigns for global engineering/manufacturing organizations, preferably in aerospace or related industries.
  • Expertise in traditional and non-traditional communication platforms, including print, electronic, social media, video, and industry events.
  • Excellent written, oral, and electronic communication skills, with experience in virtual environments.

The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
