Job description

Master Data Management (MDM) Data Engineer
100% Remote - EST Hours
6 month CDW Contract

CDW is looking for an experienced Master Data Management (MDM) Data Engineer to design and build scalable, cloud-native data solutions on AWS. In this role, you'll develop data pipelines, APIs, and data models that power analytics, reporting, and operational systems while ensuring data quality,
governance, and security.
Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and optimize cloud-native data pipelines and architectures on AWS.
  • Develop ETL/ELT workflows using Python, AWS Glue, Lambda, and related services.
  • Build and maintain APIs that enable data access across analytics and business applications.
  • Collaborate with engineering, analytics, and business teams to deliver scalable data solutions.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve data pipelines for reliability and performance.
  • Implement data governance, security, and best practices for cloud data platforms.
  • Support CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and modern DevOps practices.
  • Integrate third-party APIs and external data sources.
  • Document data architectures and mentor team members on modern data engineering practices.
  • Leverage AI tools such as ChatGPT to improve engineering productivity and documentation.

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, or related roles.
  • 3+ years of hands-on Python development.
  • 3+ years building and managing ETL/ELT pipelines.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience with data modeling.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS services including S3, Lambda, Glue, DynamoDB, Athena, Redshift, PostgreSQL, and Snowflake.
  • Experience designing REST APIs and integrating data across enterprise systems.
  • Knowledge of serverless architectures, CI/CD, and Agile development practices.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Analytics, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications
  • AWS Certification (Solutions Architect or similar).
  • Experience with dbt, Databricks, Snowflake, Terraform, or AWS CloudFormation.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML data workflows and modern data platforms.
  • Experience with DevOps automation and Infrastructure as Code.
  • Experience integrating with ServiceNow.
