Job Schedule: 9/80 - Employees work 9 out of every 14 days - totaling 80 hours worked - and have every other Friday off.

 

Job Description:

Mid-Senior level Systems Engineer to perform data analysis in Cross Domain Solution (CDS) acquisition and sustainment. This position desires technical skills to write security documentation such as ConOps and Data Owner Guides. The ability to understand the layout of a multiple domain system. Knowledgeable about the type of data and format that goes across domains including operational environment impacts. The individual will be responsible for the generation and review of technical papers, calculations, and briefings. The individual will also be required to prepare and present technical briefs to internal management teams.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Supporting the writing of security documentation such as ConOps and Data Owner Guides.
  • Knowledgeable on type of data and format that transverse across multiple domains.
  • Supporting the performance, verification, and sustainment of fielded CDS systems and components.
  • Supporting the accreditation process of the CDS system.
  • Participating in formal engineering analysis and reviewing performance parameters at the total system and individual component levels.
  • Performing the design, development, and release of related data management, processing, and reporting software tools.
  • Handle and/or manage large amounts of classified material according to standard security protocols and processes.
  • Current DOD Top Secret (TS/SCI) Security Clearance, or a DOD Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Top Secret (TS/SCI) Security Clearance is required.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering discipline and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 10 years of prior related engineering experience.
  • Demonstrated experience formal engineering analysis and reviewing performance parameters at the total system and individual component levels.
  • Demonstrated experience with design, development, and release of related data management, processing, and reporting software tools.

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Experience with CDS systems such as Radiant Mercury, Everfox, Chord, etc.
  • Understanding of network devices and concepts.
  • Able to read, interpret, create, and maintain spreadsheets, charts, reports, investigation and test plans, and procedures.
  • Physical requirements: Some lifting in a Systems Integration Lab (SIL) environment.
  • Knowledge of systems engineering concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Experience writing systems and software requirements using an application such as DOORS/JIRA.
  • Experience presenting design and project information at periodic reviews as well as recommending improvements to existing designs.
  • Familiarity with working with Unix/Linux commands in terminal consoles.
  • Experience with building test cases to assess software and system operation against requirements, writing defect reports, and assessing corrections.
  • Familiarity with networking technologies, to include Security+ certification.
  • Familiarity with RC135 Communications Systems.
  • DoD/Military experience.
