A CDL OTR (Over-The-Road) Moving Driver is a professional truck driver who holds a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and is responsible for transporting household or commercial goods long distances, often across state lines. These drivers work for moving companies and handle tasks such as loading, transporting, and unloading clients’ belongings. Managing these challenges involves maintaining good time management, staying organized with delivery documentation, and prioritizing safety during both driving and manual labor. Many moving companies offer team-based support, regular communication with dispatchers, and training on safe lifting and driving practices to help drivers succeed.
