CDL Class A Flatbed Driver
Location: Spartanburg, South Carolina
Number of Openings: 5
Pay Range: $23.00-$29.00 per hour, based on experience
Route Type: Approximately 90% local
Position Summary
The CDL Class A Flatbed Driver will be responsible for safely transporting oversized, irregular, or specialized freight using a flatbed trailer and day-cab truck.
This position is local approximately 90% of the time. However, drivers may occasionally be required to travel outside the Spartanburg area to pick up equipment, materials, or freight and transport it back to Spartanburg.
Drivers must be able to back up for extended distances and safely maneuver trucks and trailers in tight spaces without damaging the equipment, cargo, surrounding property, or other vehicles.
Safety, reliability, professionalism, and proper care of company equipment are paramount.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a day-cab truck with a flatbed trailer.
  • Transport oversized, irregular, or specialized freight.
  • Complete primarily local routes in and around Spartanburg.
  • Occasionally travel outside the local area to pick up freight or materials and return them to Spartanburg.
  • Secure cargo properly using chains, binders, straps, tarps, and other approved load-securement equipment.
  • Inspect trucks, trailers, cargo, and equipment before and after each trip.
  • Safely back up for extended distances.
  • Maneuver trucks and trailers in confined or tight spaces.
  • Plan and follow safe and efficient transportation routes.
  • Obey all federal, state, and local traffic laws.
  • Comply with all Department of Transportation regulations and company safety procedures.
  • Maintain accurate delivery records, inspection reports, logs, and other required documentation.
  • Perform the physical duties associated with flatbed transportation, including tarping, securing, uncovering, and unloading loads as required.
  • Operate and handle all vehicles and equipment safely and responsibly.
  • Protect company equipment and transported cargo from damage.
Required Qualifications
  • Current CDL Class A license in good standing.
  • Clean driving record with no violations within the past five years.
  • Previous flatbed driving experience.
  • Strong knowledge of flatbed load-securement procedures.
  • Experience using chains, binders, straps, and tarps.
  • Ability to safely back up for extended distances.
