Job Summary:

The Distribution Driver is responsible for safely delivering products to customers while ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations. In addition to driving, this role includes administrative duties such as handling paperwork, managing delivery manifests, and maintaining customer relations. The Distribution Driver plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of deliveries while upholding high standards of customer service and operational efficiency.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate a van or box truck to deliver products throughout the assigned state and in all weather conditions.
  • Conduct daily vehicle inspections and complete the DVIR log.
  • Adhere to road rules and DOT regulations at all times.
  • Protect company assets by following established cash handling guidelines.
  • Promptly address delivery or customer concerns, reporting them to the Distribution Supervisor.
  • Ensure all necessary paperwork and documentation are in order before departure.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, including pre-delivery calls and post-delivery updates.
  • Collaborate with the Distribution and Sales teams to resolve any order-related issues.
  • Provide exceptional customer service during each delivery.
  • Review orders with customers to ensure product accuracy and handle any rejections.
  • Accurately record customer payment details for each delivery.
  • Follow safety standards and report any vehicle issues or accidents to the supervisor.
  • Ensure all delivery manifests are signed, and compliance with regulations is maintained.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Must have an in-state valid driver's license with a clean driving record and valid insurance.
  • Must regularly provide proof of these documents.
  • Positive and professional attitude with a strong sense of teamwork.
  • High level of integrity, personal motivation, and sense of urgency.
  • Ability to safely operate a delivery vehicle in various weather and traffic conditions.
  • Reliability and punctuality are critical to the role.
  • Ability to learn and use new technology as needed.
  • Must be eligible to work for any employer in the United States without sponsorship.

Education and Experience:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • 1+ year of professional driving experience with box truck operation required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to drive for up to 8 hours a day.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Depending on location, must be able to pass a DOT physical.

Work Schedule (Non-Exempt):

This position is scheduled on a full-time basis. Specific shift times and workdays are determined by the operation and may vary by location. Business needs may require work on evenings, weekends, and holidays, as well as occasional overtime. Scheduled start and end times, assigned shifts, and workdays are subject to change based on staffing and operational requirements. Whenever feasible, advance notice of schedule changes will be provided.
