As a CDL Container Driver, your day usually begins with pre-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and regulatory compliance before heading out to collect, transport, and deliver containers. You’ll operate container trucks to move freight between ports, warehouses, and distribution centers, often following strict delivery schedules. Drivers are also responsible for securing loads, completing required paperwork or digital logs, and communicating any issues or delays with dispatch or clients. While most of your time is spent on the road, attention to safe equipment handling and occasional interaction with customers or site personnel are also essential parts of the job.
To thrive as a CDL Container Driver, you need a valid CDL (usually Class A or B), a clean driving record, and a solid understanding of DOT safety regulations and best practices. Familiarity with operating container trucks, electronic logging devices (ELDs), GPS navigation, and safe loading/unloading procedures is crucial. Overhaul Carriers Ltd. is offering home weekly, competitive pay, safe and steady freight. Pay: $1425 to $1600 per week and sign on bonus of $2500. Operating area: VA and WV. Weekly mileage: 1200 to 1500. Weekly home time: out for 5 days and home for 2 days with your family. Days off: Tues/Wed or Wed/Thurs.
Driver unload using a powered pallet jack (training provided). Transmission type: automatics.
