Manual Lowboy Driver (Class A CDL)

At C.R. Jackson, we know that behind every road we build is a team that makes it happen. As a Lowboy Driver, you play a critical role in keeping our projects moving by safely transporting the equipment that powers our work.

This position is responsible for loading, securing, and transporting construction equipment to and from job sites while supporting field operations as needed. This role is ideal for a safety-focused professional who takes pride in reliability, teamwork, and doing the job right.

Safely load, secure, transport, and unload construction and paving equipment

Operate trucks in compliance with all DOT and FMCSA regulations

Follow all company safety policies and OSHA standards at all times

Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections (fluids, leaks, safety equipment, etc.)

Maintain accurate mileage and vehicle logs

Ensure loads are properly secured and transported safely over designated routes

Communicate equipment maintenance needs with the Shop Foreman

Support field operations and assist with additional duties as needed

Valid CDL Class A license with acceptable driving record

5 Year CDL A driving experience

Knowledge of DOT and FMCSA safety regulations

Experience operating or transporting construction/heavy equipment preferred

Ability to follow directions and communicate effectively with team members

Strong commitment to safety, accountability, and teamwork

Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime, nights, and occasional Saturdays

Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions

Ability to lift up to 80 lbs and push/pull up to 50 lbs

Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods

Strong coordination, balance, and stamina for active job site environments

Comfortable working in heat, humidity, dust, and other outdoor conditions

Must pass background and drug screening in accordance with federal/state regulations

Must possess a valid Medical Examiner's Certificate

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred

5 years of CDL A driving experience
