A CDL Class A license allows individuals to operate large trucks and tractor-trailers, enabling them to work in freight transportation, long-haul trucking, local delivery, and logistics roles. What is a CDL Class A driver?

CDL Class A drivers are professional truck drivers who hold a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with an 'A' classification. This license allows them to operate vehicles with a gross combination weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 pounds or more, provided the vehicle being towed is over 10,000 pounds. CDL Class A drivers typically drive tractor-trailers, semi-trucks, and other large commercial vehicles across long distances. They are responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently, following federal and state regulations. Obtaining a CDL Class A requires passing both written and driving exams.

Building good communication with dispatchers and maintaining a healthy work-life balance are also important for a successful and sustainable driving career.
