How much do cdc replication jobs pay per hour?

As of Jun 6, 2026, the average hourly pay for cdc replication in the United States is $24.84, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $19.95 and $28.12 per hour, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a CDC Replication Specialist, and why are they important?

To thrive as a CDC (Change Data Capture) Replication Specialist, you need expertise in database management, data integration, and a strong understanding of replication concepts, often supported by a degree in computer science or IT. Familiarity with tools like Oracle GoldenGate, SQL Server Replication, AWS DMS, and relevant certifications is typically required. Analytical thinking, attention to detail, and effective problem-solving are essential soft skills in this role. These abilities ensure accurate, real-time data movement across systems, supporting reliable analytics and business operations.

What are some common challenges faced by professionals working in CDC replication roles, and how can they be overcome?

Professionals working in CDC (Change Data Capture) replication roles often face challenges such as ensuring real-time data consistency, handling large volumes of transactions, and minimizing latency between source and target systems. Staying vigilant about network reliability and monitoring for replication lag are key to maintaining smooth operations. Proactively setting up alerting, leveraging robust error-handling techniques, and collaborating closely with database administrators and developers for troubleshooting can significantly help in overcoming these challenges.

What is CDC replication?

CDC replication, or Change Data Capture replication, is a process used to track and capture changes made to data in a database so that those changes can be replicated or synchronized to another system in real time or near real time. This is commonly used in data warehousing, backup, and integration scenarios to ensure data consistency across multiple systems. CDC replication helps organizations maintain up-to-date data across platforms without the need for full data refreshes, improving efficiency and reducing system load.

What is the difference between Cdc Replication vs Data Engineer?

AspectCdc ReplicationData Engineer
Primary RoleImplementing change data capture processes to replicate dataDesigning, building, and maintaining data pipelines and architectures
Required SkillsDatabase management, SQL, data replication toolsProgramming, data modeling, ETL tools

While Cdc Replication focuses on capturing and replicating data changes in databases, Data Engineers design and develop comprehensive data pipelines and architectures. Both roles require strong SQL skills and familiarity with cloud platforms, but Cdc Replication is more specialized in data synchronization, whereas Data Engineers handle broader data processing tasks.

Job description

Job Summary:
Tata Consultancy Services is seeking a Data Replication Engineer to design, implement, and manage real-time data replication solutions. The role involves leading project execution, optimizing CDC replication, and ensuring high availability and data consistency across replication flows.
Responsibilities:
• Design, implement, and manage real-time data replication solutions using IBM InfoSphere Data Replication (IIDR / CDC / Q Replication).
• Lead end‑to‑end project execution — from requirements gathering, solution design, deployment, testing, and production support.
• Configure and optimize CDC replication for multiple heterogeneous data sources and targets, including IMS DB, DB2, CockroachDB, Oracle, Kafka, and IBM MQ.
• Architect reliable and scalable data replication frameworks to support enterprise data movement, migrations, and modernization initiatives.
• Ensure high availability, low latency, and data consistency across all replication flows.
• Develop automation scripts and tools to streamline monitoring, deployments, and performance tuning.
• Troubleshoot replication issues proactively and provide root‑cause analysis for complex production problems.
• Establish and enforce replication best practices, governance models, and enterprise data standards.
• Implement enterprise‑level monitoring and alerting for replication health, latency, and performance metrics.
• Collaborate closely with onshore and offshore teams, architects, DBAs, and platform engineers.
• Drive the technical roadmap for data replication, modernization, and integration improvements.
• Support cloud or hybrid migrations by designing replicable and fault‑tolerant data flows.
• Document system designs, replication architecture, configurations, and operational procedures.
• Conduct knowledge‑sharing and mentor junior team members on IIDR and replication best practices.
• Ensure security, compliance, and data integrity in all replication pipelines.
Qualifications:
Required:
• BACHELOR OF COMPUTER SCIENCE
• Minimum 10 years of experience
• Primary skills/ Tools: IIDR / CDC / Q Replication, Real-time data replication, CDC config (IMS DB, DB2, CockroachDB, Oracle, Kafka, IBM MQ), Monitoring & troubleshooting, High availability & performance tuning
• Secondary skills/ Tools: Linux/Unix & shell scripting, Git / Jenkins, Cloud basics (AWS/Azure/GCP), ETL & data integration basics
• Design, implement, and manage real-time data replication solutions using IBM InfoSphere Data Replication (IIDR / CDC / Q Replication)
