Job description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join the Worthington Enterprises Medical and Wellness Center team. This position is responsible for delivering the highest quality nursing care to our employees and their families in accordance with the standards and protocols set forth by the State of Ohio and Worthington Enterprises.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, adaptable, and an excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively at all levels of the organization.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Room patients and record height, weight, and vital signs.
  • Assist with clinical procedures, including mole removals, Pap smears, and laceration repairs.
  • Perform diagnostic and screening procedures such as pulmonary function tests (PFTs), EKGs, breath alcohol testing (BATs), hearing tests, vision screenings, and drug test collections.
  • Administer injections to adults, children, and infants.
  • Perform phlebotomy and collect laboratory specimens (blood, urine), order tests, and retrieve results.
  • Provide patient education on topics such as diabetes management, glucose self-monitoring, blood pressure monitoring, and self-injection techniques.
  • Communicate with other healthcare providers to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Triage patient calls and follow up as needed.
  • Conduct daily equipment and facility safety checks.
  • Maintain stocked and organized patient rooms.
  • If needed, train first responders in First Aid, CPR, and AED use (training for this would be provided by Worthington Enterprises).
  • Call in prescriptions as directed by a provider.
  • Complete CPT/ICD-10 coding for patient encounters.
  • Support off-site clinics by performing blood pressure checks, vaccinations (Flu, Hepatitis), and phlebotomy.
  • Assist with ordering vaccines, medical supplies, and other clinic necessities.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Knowledge of Ohio nursing guidelines, facility protocols, and testing equipment operation.
  • Familiarity with current CDC immunization requirements.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage confidential information with the highest level of discretion.
  • Proficiency in multitasking and maintaining accuracy under pressure.

Education & Certification Requirements:

  • Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) program.
  • Active Ohio LPN license in good standing.
  • Current CPR and AED certification.
