Overview

DLH Corp Company, is looking for a part-time Public Healthย Research Analyst, usingย SAS and R and Python,ย to join our talented and innovative team supporting theย Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)ย in Atlanta, GA.ย 

CDC's National Center for HIV/AIDS, Viral Hepatitis, STD, and TB Prevention (NCHHSTP), the Division of HIV Prevention (DHP) is charged with preventing HIV infection and reducing the incidence of HIV-related illness and death. The overarching objectives of the contract held by DLH are to assist DHP in addressing its public health mission by providing data management, data governance, data analysis, and data dissemination support to strengthen the nationwide capacity to monitor the HIV epidemic. As such, DLH is seeking aย Research Analystย with the following skills:

Responsibilities

  • Developing analytic programs (using SAS, R, or Python code) to support the National Data Processing (NDP) of HIV surveillance data, including sensitivity analyses, dataset certification analyses, and ad hoc development of solutions for data-related
  • Developing analytic programs (using SAS, R, or Python code) to support data quality checks of the HIV surveillance laboratory data.
  • Providing technical assistance and support in creating data visualizations
  • Providing technical assistance and support for HS data management
  • Providing ongoing statistical and data support for reports, presentations, materials, and scientific
  • Automating data management and analytical processes using dynamic variables with iteratively reusable coding and providing advanced SAS expertise, including proficient use of the following procedures: FREQ, REPORT, GLM, LOGISITIC, REQ, SQL, MEANS, TABULATE, SUMMARY, FORMAT, GPLOT, ODS, GRAPH, ACCESS, BASE, STAT, and
  • Developing SAS programs using SAS ODS code to create outputs in specified file
  • Documenting procedures used to accomplish all above-described support

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in public health, statistics, or related field.
  • 2 years of experience working with SAS.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with multiple data sources to monitor and assess data to ensure data quality, including accuracy and completeness.
  • Atlanta-based.
  • Strong SAS, R, and Python experience.
  • Clear communication (written and verbal).
  • Active NAC Security Clearance walking through the door

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous CDC experience.
  • Previously badged by the CDC.
  • Master's degree in public health, statistics, or related field.
  • 2 years of experience in generating SAS-based reports using a variety of methods (e.g., PROC REPORT, PROC TABULATE) and exporting those reports to other formats such as Microsoft Excel, PDF, and HTML.
  • Experience with large (>500,000 observations), document-based datasets.
  • Detail-oriented and able to create meticulous documentation of variables, datasets, and data attributes with a commitment to generating accurate data and products.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
