What are CDC Coors?

CDC Coors refers to a specific variety of malting barley developed by the Crop Development Centre (CDC) at the University of Saskatchewan, often used in brewing by companies such as Coors. This barley variety is valued for its high yield, disease resistance, and desirable malting properties, making it suitable for beer production. Farmers grow CDC Coors barley under contract with brewing companies or maltsters who require consistent quality for their products. The variety contributes to the brewing process by providing the right enzymes and extract needed for efficient fermentation and beer flavor.
