Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in need of a Lead Systems Engineer in Dallas, TX.
Responsibilities:
* Support the Web Middleware team with application onboarding, CI/CD pipelines, and SSL certificate lifecycle management
* Troubleshoot and resolve application issues, including Tomcat-related defects
* Design, develop, and deploy applications using Chef, Ansible, Jenkins, and GitLab within CI/CD pipelines
* Install, configure, and integrate middleware software to ensure stable operations
* Containerize applications using OpenShift to enable portability and scalable deployments
* Leverage AWS cloud services to support and manage infrastructure components
* Manage SSL certificates end to end, including creation, renewal, retention, and revocation
* Apply security patches and updates to protect servers from vulnerabilities
* Collaborate cross-functionally to propose solutions and resolve technical issues
* Define, monitor, and maintain performance standards for middleware systems
* Modify and enhance existing software to correct defects, support new hardware, and improve performance
* Monitor system operations to ensure compliance with specifications
* Store, retrieve, and analyze data to assess system capabilities and requirements
REQUIREMENTS:
* Experience with version control systems (Bitbucket, GitHub)
* Proficiency in containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, Red Hat OpenShift)
* Hands-on experience with application servers (IBM WebSphere, Apache Tomcat, Red Hat JBoss EAP)
* Knowledge of configuration management and Infrastructure as Code tools (Chef, Terraform, Puppet, Ansible)
* Experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure)
* Familiarity with build and dependency management tools (Jenkins, Maven, Gradle)
* Experience with streaming platforms such as Apache Kafka
* Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automation
* Proficiency in Linux-based operating systems and scripting languages (Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Bash, JavaScript, Python)
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
