Position Summary
Provides security and front desk operations support for the Cook Media Global headquarters by protecting employees, visitors, tenants, and company assets. Responsibilities include monitoring the front desk, managing visitor access, answering incoming phone calls, and supporting daily front desk operations. When not assigned to the front desk, conducts routine interior and exterior property patrols and safety inspections to maintain a safe and secure environment within the building.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide visible deterrence and monitor public and non-public areas, including buildings, parking areas, stairwells, and grounds.
  • Respond promptly to emergency and non-emergency situations.
  • Intervene in crises with empathy, clarity, and authority.
  • Investigate and document suspicious activity, intrusions, damage, or emergencies.
  • Maintain clear communication with team members, management, and public safety personnel.
  • Assist with coordination during fire, medical, or security emergencies.
  • Must be able to lift up to 80 lbs
  • Must be able to work on short notice. Must be willing to work varying shifts to include nights and weekends. Subject to call out any time.
  • Escort staff and visitors when needed; assist with tenant safety.
  • Complete detailed incident reports.
  • Perform reception duties during normal shift hours as needed. Welcome visitors by greeting them, in person or on the telephone, answering or referring inquiries.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including special projects.

Required Qualifications
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED (Associate Degree in Criminal Justice preferred).
  • Experience: 3-5 years in Law Enforcement, Security, or related field.
  • Age & Citizenship: Must be 21 years old and a U.S. Citizen.
  • Licensing & Certifications:
    • Valid Colorado Driver's License
    • CPR/AED and First Aid Certification
    • Ability to obtain and maintain a Concealed Carry Weapons (CCW) permit or Title 18 Retired Law Enforcement Permit
  • Skills & Knowledge:
    • Knowledge of local and state laws, enforcement procedures, and use-of-force guidelines.
    • Ability to act quickly and decisively in high-pressure situations.
    • Physical fitness and capability to perform strenuous activities.
    • Familiarity with firearms handling and ability to pass quarterly qualifications.
