Key Responsibilities

  • Install, terminate, test, and label network and low-voltage cabling for CCTV systems.
  • Install and position indoor and outdoor cameras, including fixed, dome, bullet, panoramic, thermal, multisensor, and PTZ cameras.
  • Configure IP cameras, encoders, network video recorders (NVRs), servers, workstations, switches, and storage equipment.
  • Program and configure video-management systems such as Milestone, Genetec, Bosch, Axis, Honeywell, Exacq, Hanwha, and similar platforms.
  • Adjust camera views, resolution, frame rates, recording schedules, motion detection, analytics, and retention settings.
  • Configure basic network settings, including IP addresses, subnets, gateways, VLANs, PoE connections, and remote access.
  • Diagnose camera outages, poor image quality, network failures, power issues, storage problems, and software or licensing errors.
  • Read and interpret construction drawings, floor plans, camera schedules, wiring diagrams, and project specifications.
  • Perform system testing, commissioning, preventive maintenance, inspections, firmware updates, and repairs.
  • Integrate CCTV systems with access control, intrusion detection, intercom, alarm, and other security platforms.
  • Maintain accurate records of device names, IP addresses, passwords, licenses, test results, service activities, and as-built conditions.
  • Train customers on basic system operation, video searches, exports, user permissions, and incident review.
  • Coordinate professionally with customers, general contractors, inspectors, engineers, subcontractors, and project managers.
  • Maintain clean work areas and protect customer facilities and equipment.

  • Ability to use cable testers, multimeters, laptops, camera testers, and other diagnostic equipment.
  • Understanding of IP addressing, PoE, bandwidth, video resolution, storage, and recording retention.
  • Ability to read plans, schematics, technical manuals, and project specifications.
  • Strong troubleshooting, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent customer-service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with field and project-management teams.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate documentation.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to lift equipment, use ladders and lifts, work above ceilings, and perform duties in active construction environments.
  • Availability to travel within Puerto Rico and, when required, to the U.S. Virgin Islands.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Manufacturer certifications from Milestone, Genetec, Axis, Bosch, Hanwha, Exacq, Honeywell, Avigilon, or similar manufacturers.
  • BICSI, Network+, Security+, or comparable technical certification.
  • OSHA safety training.
  • Experience with enterprise video-management systems and multisite deployments.
  • Experience with video analytics, license-plate recognition, facial comparison, thermal imaging, and cloud-managed surveillance.
