Job description

CCTV / Access Control Installation Technician

Location: Phoenix, Arizona
Job Type: Full-Time
Pay: Competitive – Based on Experience

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced CCTV / Access Control Installation Technician to join our team in Phoenix, Arizona. In this role, you will install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot commercial electronic security systems, including CCTV, access control, intrusion detection, and structured cabling. You'll work on commercial buildings, industrial facilities, and mission-critical data center projects throughout the Phoenix metro area.

Responsibilities
  • Install and terminate access control systems, including card readers, electric strikes, magnetic locks, door contacts, request-to-exit devices, and door controllers.
  • Install and configure IP-based CCTV camera systems, NVRs, and associated equipment.
  • Pull, route, terminate, label, and test Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, and fiber optic cabling.
  • Install cable pathways, J-hooks, conduit, cable tray, and support systems.
  • Mount cameras, access control devices, panels, and network equipment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and project drawings.
  • Perform system testing, troubleshooting, and basic commissioning.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and labeling of installed systems.
  • Follow OSHA safety standards and customer site requirements.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Work closely with project managers, supervisors, and customers to ensure successful project completion.

QualificationsRequired
  • 2+ years of experience installing CCTV and access control systems.
  • Experience with commercial low-voltage installations.
  • Ability to terminate and test structured cabling.
  • Ability to read construction drawings and wiring diagrams.
  • Proficient with hand and power tools.
  • Valid driver's license with reliable transportation.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening (if required).
Preferred
  • Experience with Lenel, Genetec, Avigilon, Software House (CCURE), Honeywell, Gallagher, or similar enterprise security platforms.
  • Experience working in data centers or commercial construction.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification.
  • Lift certification or experience operating scissor lifts.
  • Fiber optic termination experience.

Physical Requirements
  • Lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Stand, bend, kneel, and climb ladders throughout the workday.
  • Work indoors and outdoors in Arizona weather conditions.
  • Comfortable working in active construction environments.
  • Ability to work overtime and occasional weekends as project schedules require.
