We are seeking a Network Engineer to focus on optimizing and upgrading core components of the technologies that allow our clinicians and other professionals to deliver lifesaving care.Your work as a Network Engineer willimprove patient care, contribute to better health outcomes, and ultimately save lives.

The Network Engineer is responsible for design solutions that utilize wireless network architectural best practices. This individual is instrumental in providing highly reliable and capable solutions for the Montefiore Health System.

This position requires some on site work. Candidates must live within the New York Metropolitan area.

Responsibilities include:

  • Analyze business & application requirements and present Wireless design solutions for various environments, both in a lead and complementary role.
  • Provide recommendations for wireless standards and improvements to leadership.
  • Develop implementation scripts for deployment of the wireless design, maintenance and quality assurance.
  • Design changes and buildouts in accordance with established infrastructure standards.
    • Document, internal review and deliver design documentation to the network operations team.
    • In conjunction with the Deployment Services Team, meet and work with product groups to ensure that the business and user needs are satisfied.
  • Manage relationships with the various internal technical and non-technical business groups to ensure solutions delivered are in alignment with business goals and requirements.
  • Provide 2nd level technical assistance and fault isolation to operational level support staff.
  • Provide design and project management services for new client projects/enhancements and core initiatives.
  • Work with and consult all project specific members and clients to guarantee that projects are successfully completed.
  • Participate in the project budgeting and procurement process as necessary.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Required experience includes:

  • Expert level Aruba ClearPass design, configuration and maintenance
  • Cisco Prime design, configuration and maintenance
  • WLAN Controller configuration and tuning
  • Experience with wireless network fault isolation and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with scoping and managing wireless license environment.
  • Project management
  • Strong technical and industry experience
  • Wireless Site Survey experience using the Ekahau toolset.
  • Understanding of VoWiFi, RTLS (Real Time Location Tracking) and Outdoor Mesh Technologies
  • Understanding of Wireless Lan Controllers (WLC) and Access point models
  • Meraki AP configuration and tuning
  • Strong working knowledge of layer 1, 2 and 3 network technologies
  • Technical Documentation Skills
