Shift hours:
2nd shift: 4:45 pm - 3:45 am, weekends as necessary (10% shift differential on top of base pay)
Job Summary:
Creates printing plates by utilizing digital platemaking equipment for Offset and Flexo presses.
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Demonstrates the behaviors of punctuality, regular attendance, professionalism towards supervisors and co-workers, and self-directed task completion.
  • Maintains clean work area.
  • Must comply with all departmental SOP's (Standard Operating Procedures), company GMP's (Good Manufacturing Practices), Employee Handbook Policies, including attendance, and all safety rules and standards.
  • Works normal shift hours and overtime as required.
  • Coordinates efforts as part of the team to provide assistance to all co-workers in all departments to maximize production efficiencies as needed.
  • Trains co-workers and new hires to set up, operate and use equipment.
  • Provides appropriate plates for the press job is running on (Offset, Cyrel, Rotamesh).
  • Logs all new plates in either Offset, Flexo or Rotascreen Platemaking log.
  • Files and logs used Cyrel plates after printing.
  • Recovers used plates needed for press using Plate Request, Sample, and Plate Log.
  • Understands the process in making Rotamesh screens for press.
  • Calibrates and maintains ECLF for Cyrel, CDI Spark, and Heidelberg CTP for Offset.
  • QC Offset, Flexo, and Rotascreen plates.
  • Signs QC jacket verifying that plates are accurate to all paperwork.
  • Maintains all equipment by performing routine maintenance and cleaning.

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Must be able to work collaboratively with co-workers.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
  • Ability to address issues involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to effectively communicate ideas, information and or work assignments with co-workers and management as needed.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Office Suite or related software, as well as Manufacturing software.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent.
  • Ability to read a standard ruler to 1/32" and a metric ruler to 1mm.

Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Physical Requirements:
Regularly required to stand and reach with hands and arms.
Frequently required to walk; stoop, kneel, crouch and talk or hear.
Frequently lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds.
Requires constant movement and bending.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, dust, chemicals and vibration.
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
