Job description

PLEASE READ:

  • This position requires at least 3 days with late afternoon availability during the school year (weekdays until 6pm).
  • For those seeking part-time employment, Saturdays 9-3 are also required.
  • We expect professionalism and promptness from our staff as this position requires both verbal and written communication with benefactors including caregivers, other therapy providers, teachers, and other school faculty and administration. Applicants are evaluated on this from the very first contact, please keep that in mind when responding.
  • This is a paraprofessional position in the healthcare / psychology field; it is not babysitting or teaching. We appreciate experience in those areas, but please be aware this is not the same as those positions.
  • This position works directly with individuals who may exhibit maladaptive behaviors. These behaviors may include elopement, noncompliance, physical aggression (hair pulling, biting, hitting, kicking, etc), verbal aggression, self-injury, and destruction.

As a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) you will work with our Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to implement life-changing care in homes, schools, and clinics. This is a great experience for those going into: (applied) behavior analysis, psychology, special ed, disability advocacy/law, therapy/counseling, occupational therapy, speech therapy, etc.

  • Provide in-person behavior intervention services in a home, school or clinic setting
  • Collect and record data on child behaviors using electronic data collection
  • Work closely with BCBAs and help build the best treatment plans
  • Communicate regularly and effectively with co-workers and supervisors

What You'll Need

  • Minimum high-school degree or equivalent - ideally looking for candidates with childcare or psychology experience or education.
  • Dedicated, passionate students who are interested in learning and who will be very dependable due to the importance of consistency with the kids.
  • Reliable Transportation within the tri-county area

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Able to assume and maintain a variety of postures (kneeling, squatting, crawling, sitting, standing) for extended periods of time
  • Sit on the floor or stand for extended periods of time

Job Type: Full or Part-time


Pay: $20.00 - $27.00 per hour


Typical Schedule:

  • FT M-F 8-6 (40 hours)
  • PT Variable Availability 3-6:30 M-F and 9-12 Saturdays
  • Minimum of 12 hours required
