Job description

Job Title: Support, PCB Design

Job Code: 37794

Job Location: Salt lake City

Job Schedule: 9/80- employees work 9 out of 14 days- totaling 80 hours worked- and have every other Friday offย 

Essential Functions:

The PCB Support Designer will create and maintain schematic symbols, solder footprints and 3D models to facilitate PCB and CCA design activities. Job duties will include but are not limited to the following:

  • Contact vendors to obtain vendor data sheets as needed
  • Research vendor data sheets to obtain necessary info to complete tasks
  • Follow internal guidelines and processes to create symbols, cells and 3D models
  • Work with design engineering to customize and update symbols, cells and 3D models as requested
  • Ensure that all requirements for manufacturing are met
  • Ability to complete tasks in timely manner with minimal supervision

Qualifications:

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Minimum of 1 year of 3D CAD experience
  • Willingness to learn PCB design and Design Engineering
  • Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical or equivalent) student wishing to work while attending school
  • Practical knowledge of industry standards such as IPC for design and ASME/ANSI for documentation
  • Experience with ECAD software applications and related equipment. Specific experience with Siemens EDA (formerly Mentor Graphics) Xpedition software is desired
  • PCB design experience (layout, schematic)
  • PCB/CCA manufacturing experience
  • Experience with NX or similar 3D CAD modeling software
