Job description

Universal Technical Resource Services Inc. (UTRS) is currently seeking a Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) SME to join our team! This position is a Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) SME DSCA Duty Desk Officer. This position is in Arlington, VA.


What will you be doing?

Duties include:

  • A Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) SME is a technical expert responsible for defending against weapons of mass destruction. They conduct reconnaissance, surveillance, and decontamination; operate specialized equipment; and provide technical advice on CBRN threats.


What skills will the ideal candidate have to be successful?


This position will require the following skillsets and experience:

  • U.S. citizenship.
  • Active (or the ability to obtain and maintain a) Top Secret security clearance.
  • Education: A bachelor's or master's degree in a scientific or engineering field, Physical/Biological Sciences, Industrial Hygiene, or Toxicology.
  • Experience: Generally, 5-15+ years in CBRN defense, emergency management, or related technical fields. Requires experience in developing emergency plans and conducting risk assessments.
  • Military/Technical Training: DoD or military certification (e.g., Graduates of the Army Chemical Corps/MOS 74D/740A, or Marine Corps 5711) is highly desired.
  • Certifications: Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), Certified Emergency Manager (CEM), and/or Hazmat Technician certifications are highly desired
