Target Facilitator - Builder
Minimum Qualifications Summary
Certification amp; Education
  • Commercial driver license (CDL) and equipment certifications for commercial equipment, such as 15-ton truck, forklift, back hoe, cherry picker, and small earth moving vehicles (DESIRED)
Experience Required
  • Three years of experience in skills such as general construction, carpentry, concrete, electrical, steelwork, welding and/or equipment operations.
Job Objective
Target Facilitators/Builders positions support the Supply Department in the construction and maintenance of target sites. These positions normally require prior military or civilian background in construction and/or construction equipment operation.
Responsibilities
The following duties are applicable to this support:
  • Assess and provide recommendations regarding annual needs for target materials, including but not limited to analysis of quantities and potential types of target-building equipment.
  • Assist in identifying associated target-building equipment. Assist in researching, receiving, delivering, and stowing all target materials (MILVAN/CONEX box or Government direct storage facility).
  • Assemble and maintain a modular target site in the Camp Billy Machen (CBM), Niland, CA compound. Modular target site consists of four (4) to five (5) 10’ x 10’ rooms (walls, and makeshift roof) that are easily transportable to and from the target range. Modular target plans and materials are provided.
  • Assemble realistic replication of enemy target sites. NSWG-1 and NSWG-2 continue to design and provide materials to organically reproduce dynamic targets. The contractor will coordinate with customer command based on ongoing command standards and materials (paper targets, backstops, steel targets, and other elements designed by basic carpentry).
  • Construct target sites at remote training areas in coordinating with Range Officials.
  • Assist in the clean-up of all non-dud producing ranges after use, to the standard set by Range Officials.

Commercial driver license (CDL) and equipment certifications for commercial equipment, such as 15-ton truck, forklift, back hoe, cherry picker, and small earth moving vehicles (DESIRED)
Security Clearance:
A valid security clearance investigation supporting SECRET, or Active SECRET security clearance
