Job description

This is a full-time legal assistant position in a high-volume agency & law firm. We are actively seeking applicants who are eager to learn new systems, as we offer detailed on-the-job training for our unique line of work.

Daily tasks will include data entry, preparing and distributing documents and correspondence, as well as handling inbound customer relations phone calls regarding cases and receiving payments. Applicants should be extremely thorough, possess excellent communication skills, and be willing to work well within a team. Please note that we operate in-house only and do not offer any remote working opportunities.

Compensation:

$17.50 - $19.50 hourly


Responsibilities:
  • Prepare, maintain, and distribute paperwork, reports, and other documents.

  • Learn and implement legal policies and procedures to navigate cases through the legal environment. The job requires a specialized skill set; therefore, we will provide on-the-job training.

  • Execute Data Entry with attention to detail.

  • Answer inbound calls to receive & record payments and provide information on case status.

  • Special processes and project management.


Qualifications:
  • Two years of office experience or an associate's degree.

  • Detail-oriented and efficient in computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office suite as well as being open to being trained on our in-house systems).

  • A desire to use critical thinking skills in demanding situations with confidence in ability and training. 

  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions, multitask, and make good decisions in accordance with laws and legal ethics.

  • Willingness to work well with others and communicate effectively with clients, peer staff, supervisors, and attorneys.
