The role may also involve planning grazing rotations, maintaining facilities, and working with veterinarians to prevent disease. Strong leadership, animal husbandry skills, and knowledge of modern livestock management practices are essential for success in this role.
What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a cattle manager?
To thrive as a Cattle Manager, you need hands-on experience in livestock management, animal health, and feed operations, often supported by a degree in animal science or agriculture. Familiarity with herd management software, vaccination protocols, and equipment maintenance is highly valuable, as well as certifications in animal handling or beef quality assurance.
