The Clinical Coordinator for Educating Character Initiative (ECI) will oversee undergraduate Nursing faculty development for all clinical personnel engaged with students in acute care and community settings; Develop and administer assessment tools for tracking effectiveness of Virtue Education; Manage research for Program effectiveness related to understanding of Virtue Ethics, Mindfulness, Habit Formation, and Moral Development; Develop and refine outcomes which address the addition of Virtue Ethics in each Nursing course; Design and analyze reflection exercises for each clinical experience, including actual patient encounters and simulation assignments; Round/Debrief following actual and simulated clinical experiences; and coordinate with the Health System's new Nursing Development Specialist, thus creating a seamless hand-off from a student's first year through the Nurse's first two years in the profession. This is a grant-funded position with funding currently secured through 2028. Renewal or continuation of the position beyond the grant period is dependent upon the availability of continued funding and institutional approval. #CB

    1. Coordinate research for Program effectiveness in Nursing curriculum related to understanding of Virtue Ethics, Mindfulness, Habit Formation, and Moral Development related to Virtue Ethics and Virtue Pedagogy

  4. Program Assessment

    1. In collaboration with Nursing faculty, develop and refine outcomes which address the addition of Virtue Ethics in Nursing courses

    2. Work with faculty to develop and measure course outcomes linked to Program outcomes

  5. Clinical Reflectionย 

    1. Design and analyze reflection exercises foe each clinical experience, including actual patient encounters and simulation assignmentsย 

  6. Clinical Leadershipย 

    1. Round/Debrief following actual and simulated clinical experiencesย 

    2. Work with other clinical faculty to develop debriefing protocols regarding perseverance

  7. Hospital Coordination

    1. Coordinate efforts with the Health System's Nursing Development Specialist to help post-graduate Nurses grow in perseverance

  8. Content Expertise

    1. Develop bibliography and content expertise around perseverance and Nursing in manner that allows information to be effectively shared with Nursing colleagues

  9. Data-Driven Decision-Makingย 

    1. Engage in an analytical, empirical, data-driven approach to problem-solving and decision-making
