The Full Stack SEO Developer is responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of scalable web applications, contributing to both front-end and back-end development, systems integration, and application support. As a Full Stack SEO Developer, you will be responsible for designing and developing cutting-edge applications that support the Universityโ€™s marketing and recruitment of online and multi-modality credit and non-credit programs. The Full Stack SEO Developer focuses on web content delivery, leveraging Adobe Experience Manager ( AEM ) and working alongside the University Communication and Marketing Team ( UCM ) to enhance Villanova Universityโ€™s digital presence. The Full Stack SEO Developer works independently and proactively, driving innovation, supporting digital transformation, and embracing change, ensuring that forward-thinking solutions align with the universityโ€™s evolving needs. Duties And Responsibilities
Search Engine Optimization and Analytics Ensure the websiteโ€™s structure, HTML , CSS , and JavaScript are optimized for search engine crawlers. Perform regular audits to identify and resolve issues such as broken links, crawl errors, duplicate content, and other technical factors that may impact search engine rankings. Set up and configure SEO tools and platforms to track and analyze website performance. Utilize tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and other web analytics platforms to track, measure, and report on website performance. Identify trends, insights, and opportunities for optimization to enhance user experience and achieve business goals. Front-End Development & User Experience Develop and optimize responsive and interactive user interfaces using frameworks such as Bootstrap, mustache.js, React or similar. Lead implementation of web accessibility ( WCAG ), usability, and design best practices to ensure inclusive and search-friendly content. Work with HTML , CSS , JavaScript, and UI frameworks to create structured, semantically meaningful code that enhances searchability and performance. Advise on UX/UI decisions and assist in prototyping, wireframing, and improving interaction design, ensuring an optimized content structure for discoverability. Back-End Development & Systems Integration Independently develop, migrate, and enhance web applications, including the Digital Experience Platform and web portal. Design and implement RESTful APIs to integrate multiple systems and services. Manage and optimize database structures (relational and NoSQL) to ensure efficient data storage and retrieval. Enhance authentication, authorization, and data security measures for web applications. Performance Optimization, Security & Process Improvement Optimize web performance metrics, including server-side rendering, caching, and asset management. Learn and apply security best practices, including data protection and access control. Support efforts to improve website accessibility, structured content, and discoverability. Assist in identifying and implementing workflow optimizations and automation solutions to improve efficiency. Lead SEO -related performance improvements, including optimizing page load times, structured content delivery, and mobile responsiveness. Collaboration, Research & Innovation Engage with stakeholders and teams to enhance web designs, feature development, and system improvements. Work closely and communicate effectively with designers, developers, and business units to deliver functional and scalable solutions. Stay informed on emerging technologies and proactively recommend innovative approaches to web development. Contribute to Villanova Universityโ€™s digital transformation strategy by identifying areas for innovation. Documentation, Training & Quality Assurance Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for development processes, integrations, and system workflows. Provide training and support to ensure smooth use of web applications. Conduct thorough QA and regression testing to ensure software quality and usability. Conduct user acceptance testing. Create test plans to support these efforts. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior developers, supporting knowledge-sharing and best practices. Perform other duties and assist with projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
Formal Education Bachelorโ€™s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience and/or industry certifications will be considered. Work Experience 3+ years of experience in full-stack development (including UI/UX), or related roles. Work Skills (e.g., written and verbal communication skills) Proficiency in front-end development, including JavaScript, HTML , CSS , Bootstrap, Mustache.js, React, or other. Proficiency in back-end development, including Java, Node.js, Python, or other. Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with both technical and non-technical audiences. Adaptability to changing needs and requirements in a dynamic work environment. Ability to work independently on complex projects, collaborate with stakeholders, and provide technical recommendations. Experience with SEO and analytics tools/platforms such as Siteimprove, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Google Search Console, Lighthouse, or similar. Specific Job Knowledge (e.g., knowledge of principles and procedures related to field and area) Understanding of UI/UX principles and best practices, including collaboration on user interface design. Experience with API design and integration for scalable applications. Proficiency in database management, including relational ( SQL -based) and NoSQL systems. Knowledge of security best practices for web applications. Understanding of web content management systems and their implementation. Knowledge of Search Engine Optimization ( SEO ) best practices.

Preferred Qualifications
Work Experience Experience working in cloud-based environments, such as AWS , Azure, or Google Cloud. Prior experience in DevOps or CI/CD pipeline automation. Experience with A/B testing, including analytics and tagging to support online marketing campaigns. Work Skills (e.g., written and verbal communication skills) Familiarity with DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment. Knowledge of modern web development patterns, including microservices architecture. Specific Job Knowledge (e.g., knowledge of principles and procedures related to field and area) Experience with cloud-based applications and services such as AWS , AEM , Boomi, Siteimprove, or web analytics. Understanding of accessibility best practices for web applications. Strong working knowledge of Search Engine Optimization ( SEO ). Familiarity with web marketing analytics dashboards. Strong working knowledge of marketing web technologies.
