The Archdiocese of St. Louis strives to teach and share our faith, serve others, and foster unity throughout the St. Louis area.  Once a part of Kenrick-Glennon Seminary's campus, the Cardinal Rigali Center in Shrewsbury, MO is today the headquarters and curia (governing body) for the Archdiocese of St. Louis.

Job Summary

St. Clare of Assisi Catholic School is seeking a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Pre‑K Teacher Aide to support the classroom teacher in providing a nurturing, faith‑filled, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for young children. The ideal candidate will demonstrate patience, creativity, and a genuine love for working with early childhood learners.

The Pre‑K Teacher Aide assists with instructional activities, classroom management, supervision, and the daily routines that help children grow academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Pre‑K teacher in implementing daily lessons, centers, and classroom activities.
  • Assist with supervising children during classroom time, outdoor play, specials, meals, rest time, and transitions.
  • Help create a welcoming, organized, and safe classroom environment.
  • Provide individualized support to students as needed, reinforcing concepts and guiding behavior.
  • Prepare classroom materials, supplies, and learning stations under the direction of the teacher.
  • Assist with maintaining cleanliness, organization, and sanitation in accordance with school and early‑childhood guidelines.
  • Model and support the Catholic values and mission of the school.
  • Communicate positively and professionally with students, staff, and families.
  • Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and school events as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the teacher or school administration.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Experience working with young children in a school, preschool, or childcare setting preferred.
  • Warm, patient, and nurturing disposition with a love for early learners.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to follow directions, assist with lesson implementation, and support classroom management.
