Many work in private practice, church settings, or Catholic organizations to offer guidance rooted in faith and professional expertise.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Catholic Counseling position, and why are they important?

Success in Catholic Counseling requires a strong foundation in counseling or psychology, a relevant degree (often a master's), and knowledge of Catholic teachings and values. These competencies are vital for providing effective guidance that aligns with clients’ faith and ethical needs.

Catholic Counselors typically provide one-on-one or group counseling sessions that integrate psychological principles with Catholic faith values. This role may also include leading workshops, coordinating with local Catholic organizations, and staying updated on current best practices in faith-based mental health counseling.
