Maintenance Indirect - Electrician
Artazn has secured new business opportunities and is excited to offer direct hiring opportunities for an Electrician. To qualify, you must certify to operate a forklift, be willing to work 8 or 12-hour shifts, evenings, nights, weekends, and overtime as needed. This position will train on day shift then will be on 2nd or 3rd shift per availability.
Job Purpose/Scope:
The electrician Installs repairs and trouble shoots electrical systems and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment throughout the entire facility while meeting the NFP 70 safety standards.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Essential Functions
40% Installation and repair work using detailed circuit diagrams and schematics and standard test equipment. Installs power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment such as, conveyors, and programmable controllers.
30% Connects power supply wires to machines and automated equipment and connects cables and wires between machines and equipment. Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables.
30% Diagnoses and repairs or replaces faulty electronic components, such as printed circuit boards. Accountable for troubleshooting and repair of programmable, automated machinery and related systems. Plans layout of wiring and installs wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus in buildings.
Secondary Functions
Emergency Responder, the responder will be asked to repair malfunctions to the coinage chlorine
system. This task will normally be initiated after the Primary Emergency Responders have shut the
system down and ensured that the chlorine levels negate the need for respiratory protection.
However, there may be those occasions where Secondary Emergency Responders may be asked to
fulfill Primary Responder Duties.
The employee will be responsible completing all emergency response tasks as directed by either the Department Supervision or the Emergency Coordinator. These tasks include, but are not limited to, assessing, stopping, and repairing minor chlorine leaks. All secondary responder actions to be taken will be within the scope of training received by the employee.
The employee will be successfully fit tested in the use of company supplied respiratory protection equipment unless medically disqualified by the company physician. This equipment will consist of air purifying respirators and Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus
Involvement with lean and quality team concepts.
Knowledge/Experience/Skills:
• Knowledge
This position requires a High School diploma with Journeyman Electrician's card or three to five years industrial electrician experience.
• Experience
Three to five years industrial experience preferably in a heavy manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of Industrial power systems including medium voltage equipment systems. Highly familiar with the structure and information described information from the schematics. Expert knowledge of the National Electrical Code. Skilled in the use of various electrician tools including the use of the multimeter, high voltage sensing equipment, amp meter, and other related equipment.
• Skills
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules/programs, schematics, prints, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
REASONING ABILITY: The ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form and use a systematic approach in troubleshooting and solving problems
