Job description

Technician providing technical and patient support and patient care. Communicates continuously with the physician about patient condition. Assist

physician during invasive and noninvasive procedures. Operates all equipment safetly and correctly. Assesses procedure room for equipment

functioning and readiness. Obtains supplies for individual cases and ensures all appropriate needs of the Cardiac Cath Laboratory team are met.

Participates in perfomance improvement and continuous quality improvement (CQI) activites. Technician is authorize to be in the presence of

medications.

  • SPECIAL SKILLS: Demonstrated critical thinking skills to be able to pass orientation.
  • Minimum Requirements
    • Education: Completion of formal two year radiologic technology training in AMA approved school which meets requirements for
    • registry by the ARRT or equivalent on-the-job training including a minimum of four months orientation.
    • Certifications: Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) registration; current Arizona MRTBE license; current BLS
  • Preferred Requirements
    • Certifications:  ARRT(CI), (VI) or ARRT (CV); ACLS

  • Maintains aseptic technique when opening sterile supplies, setting up procedures and during all invasive procedures
  • Sets up and scrubs for procedures in a timely manner that allows the patient to come into the room 5 minutes prior to schedule start time.
  • Operates all imaging equipment safely and correctly. Performs preventative maintenance as needed. Ensures proper functioning prior to each procedure, during procedure and post procedure.
  • Able to scrub, circulate and operate in the control room for all procedures in the Cardiac Cath Laboratory.
  • Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/heath care errors.
  • Performs patient care responsibilities considering needs specific to the standard of care for the patients age.
  • Other related job tasks or responsibilities as assigned
