What are Cath Lab RNs?

Cath Lab RNs, or Catheterization Laboratory Registered Nurses, are specialized nurses who assist doctors during cardiac catheterization procedures and other diagnostic tests related to the heart. Cath Lab RNs play a crucial role in ensuring patient safety and helping to manage any complications that may arise during these high-stakes procedures.

Do cath lab nurses get paid more?

Cath lab nurses typically earn higher salaries than general nurses due to their specialized skills in cardiac procedures and the use of advanced equipment. Factors such as experience, certifications, and geographic location can also influence their pay rates. Their work environment often requires additional training in invasive procedures and patient monitoring.

Continuous learning and participation in simulation drills also enhance readiness for emergencies.
