Material Hander - Shipper

Location: Caterpillar Manufacturing Facility, Saint Francis, WI

Sign-On & Retention Bonus: Up to $2,000

Hourly Pay:

  • Step 1: $22.10

  • Step 2: $22.59

  • Step 3: $23.09

Job Summary

As a Material Handler , you will keep production moving by safely receiving, staging, transporting, and delivering materials to the right place at the right time. You'll operate material handling equipment, execute inventory transactions, and partner with operations to support a high-performance manufacturing environment focused on safety, quality, and on-time delivery .

This position will work in our Saint Francis, Wisconsin warehouse location near our South Milwaukee facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely move, stage, and deliver raw material, components, and finished goods to support production flow and shipping schedules.

  • Perform shipping/receiving activities including unloading/loading, verifying counts, and preparing materials for storage or line-side delivery.

  • Execute inventory transactions (receipts, issues, transfers) and support cycle count activities to maintain inventory accuracy.

  • Operate and inspect material handling equipment (e.g., forklift / powered industrial truck , pallet jack); complete pre-use checks and report concerns.

  • Identify material discrepancies or constraints, apply basic problem-solving, and escalate issues to keep production on track.

  • Maintain organized, safe work areas using 5S practices; follow all site safety rules and standard work.

  • Support continuous improvement by suggesting process and layout improvements that reduce waste and improve flow.

Qualifications:

  • One or more years of forklift experience heavier than 11,000 lb. capacity.

  • Warehouse experience - understanding packing slips and auditing material to ensure in proper place.

  • Shipping experience - understanding how to package loose components in a crate for domestic and international shipments and secure and block large pieces upwards of 8,000 lbs to a skid

  • Crane experience - expected to perform straight picks with a jib crane up to 8K lbs.

  • Forklift experience - Lift 14K lb parts.

  • Experience loading and unloading trucks.

  • Ability to track inventory.
