Together, we are building a better world, so we can all enjoy living in it.Job Description :This position provides manufacturing engineering support for Turbomachinery components manufacturing at Solar Turbines’ Superior Gear facility. Responsibilities include manufacturing planning, manufacturing process continuous improvement, first article proofing, tooling/fixture design, machine selection/requisition, process/quality control, and new product design and development support. The incumbent collaborates closely with fellow manufacturing engineers, design engineering, operations, quality, supply chain, planning, and facility engineering. The position also supports Solar manufacturing execution system implementation with online manufacturing plan, standard work, production data tracking and reporting, while incorporating automation and artificial intelligence for advanced manufacturing process and inspection.Develop detailed parts and assembly manufacturing plans and process requirements/operation instructions.Select/design tooling, fixtures, gauges, and develop fast, accurate optical inspection process (3D scan, etc.)Lead production quality investigation, resolution, and improvement, using statistical tools, like GR&R, SPC, and Cpk analysisSupport new product development for manufacturability.Create overhaul parts inspection and remanufacturing plans.Identify, develop, and implement automation and artificial intelligence tools for process and quality improvement.Support supply chain quality resolution and improvement.Drive continuous process improvement.Define capital needs/requirements and procure machine and equipment.Minimum Qualifications :2 + years of manufacturing engineering experience.Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline or 5+ years of Machinist experience in lieu of degree.Excellent communication, collaborative, initiative, and problem solving skills.Willing to support production schedules, and be able to perform with minimal supervision.Preferred Qualifications :Precision components manufacturing experiences, like turning/milling, and grinding6 Sigma and Lean process training and project experiencesWorking experiences with CMM, NDT, solid modelling, and machine CNC control; precision machining and CNC programming.Knowledge and experience with MES (Manufacturing Execution System)For any position that will require you to work two or more hours per week on average within the unincorporated areas of Los Angeles County, please note that the Company will consider qualified applicants with arrest or conviction records in accordance with the Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance for Employers and the California Fair Chance Act.This position does not offer relocation and is not a remote role; position location in Gardena, CA.Visa Sponsorship is not available for this position.
