Caterpillar is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer in Clayton, NC. In this role, you will collaborate with the team in maintaining and improving processes and systems in the manufacture of the products produced in the facility. Further, you will analyze and recommend current and future systems, procedures and equipment needs based on manufacturing requirements.
What you can look forward to in this role:
  • Perform technical analysis of manufacturing processes through a lens of continuous improvement.
  • Support execution of NPI programs.
  • Set up and support production routings in SAP
  • Design and direct the acquisition of all necessary tooling and machines.
  • Troubleshoot day-to-day process issues, develop solutions and monitor improvements.
  • Procure material related to manufacturing improvements through external suppliers.
  • Analyze and deploy engineering change notices.
  • Respond to customer issues and lead process improvements.

A successful candidate in this role will showcase their skills in:
  • Engineering - MFG: Knowledge of processes, techniques and methods of engineering in a manufacturing environment; ability to design and implement materials, structures, machines, devices, systems and processes that safely realize a desired objective or invention.
  • Lean Manufacturing: Knowledge of the philosophy, principles and implementation approaches of lean manufacturing; ability to integrate and implement lean manufacturing philosophy into existing production and management processes.
  • Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
  • Manufacturing Processes: Knowledge of existing product manufacturing methods, technologies and processes; ability to execute, plan, manage and monitor the entire manufacturing process.

Top Candidates for this position may also have:
  • Demonstrated proficiency with SAP for production routings (CA02, CC02, CR02, etc.).
  • Experience with 3D modeling programs.
  • Experience with AutoCAD.
  • Experience with Engineering Team Center.
  • A thorough knowledge of manufacturing concepts demonstrated through prior experience working in an equipment manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Good communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills supporting an ability to work with a diverse group of employees and customers.

Summary Pay Range:
$89,210.00 - $133,810.00
