Job description

Great Events Catering is looking for Casual Catering Bartenders to join our growing event team.

We provide food and beverage service for a wide variety of events throughout Calgary and surrounding areas, including weddings, corporate events, galas, private celebrations, receptions, and large-scale special events.

If you're an experienced bartender who enjoys working with people, providing great service, and being part of exciting events, we'd love to hear from you.

What You'll Do

As a Catering Bartender, you'll be responsible for providing professional, efficient, and friendly beverage service while helping create an excellent experience for our guests.

Depending on the event, your responsibilities may include:

  • Setting up and organizing event bars before service
  • Preparing and serving beer, wine, spirits, mixed drinks, and non-alcoholic beverages
  • Providing friendly and professional guest service
  • Following established recipes, portion standards, and responsible liquor service practices
  • Checking identification and ensuring compliance with Alberta liquor regulations
  • Processing guest transactions when required
  • Maintaining a clean, stocked, and organized bar throughout the event
  • Monitoring and replenishing beverage, ice, glassware, and supply levels
  • Communicating supply needs to Event Captains and Managers
  • Assisting with bar breakdown and cleanup at the end of events
  • Working closely with servers, Event Captains, and other event staff
  • Following food safety, liquor service, and workplace safety procedures
What We're Looking For

We're looking for bartenders who are professional, reliable, energetic, and confident behind the bar.

The ideal candidate:

  • Has previous bartending experience
  • Provides friendly and attentive guest service
  • Is comfortable working independently behind a bar when required
  • Can work efficiently during busy service periods
  • Is reliable and punctual
  • Works well as part of an event team
  • Is comfortable standing for extended periods and performing the physical duties of bartending
  • Maintains a professional appearance and positive attitude
  • Is available for a variety of shifts, particularly evenings and weekends
  • Holds a valid Alberta ProServe certification

Previous experience with catering, weddings, banquets, hotels, restaurants, or large events is an asset.

Flexible Event-Based Scheduling

This is a casual, event-based position. Our schedule changes from week to week depending on weddings, corporate functions, and other events.

Team members provide their availability and can view available shifts through our scheduling app and apply for the shifts that work with their schedule.

This is a great opportunity for bartenders looking for flexible work, additional shifts, or supplemental income.
