The Role
Are you an experienced catering professional with a passion for creating unforgettable events? Do you thrive in dynamic, high-energy environments where you can take initiative and lead a team to success? If so, we want you to join our team at the MAC as a Catering Banquet Captain!

This Catering Captain will ensure the flawless execution of events, providing top-notch service in a courteous, timely, and efficient manner. IN this role, you will lead our service staff, uphold our high standards, and work closely with the Catering Manager to coach and mentor the team. Your role is pivotal in creating memorable experiences and fostering repeat business.
This is a part-time, fully on-site role at our club in Portland, OR.

What You’ll Do

  • Implement Flawless Event Execution: Ensure exceptional execution of all catering functions, from setup to service and breakdown.
  • Lead with Poise: Supervise and coordinate service staff, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance. Consistently enforce club policies and procedures fairly and effectively.
  • Provide Exceptional Customer Service: Greet and communicate with clients throughout events to meet or exceed their expectations. Anticipate and resolve issues quickly and efficiently to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Oversee Quality Control: Inspect event areas, table settings, and equipment for cleanliness and proper setup. Maintain regular communication with the sales team and provide detailed reports on events.
  • Other duties as assigned.


What You’ll Bring

  • Catering Experience: 2-5 years in catering, with a solid understanding of food and beverage service. Previous supervisory experience is a plus.
  • Communication & Technical Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and the ability to use kitchen equipment.
  • A Stellar Mindset: Positive, calm, and professional demeanor with the ability to stay composed under pressure.
  • Schedule Flexibility: Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, including Easter, Mother’s Day, Thanksgiving, and our Annual Meeting.
