Mustang Cat is actively hiring Advanced Heavy Equipment Technicians for shop and field service roles in Houston, Texas. As a key player in our service operations, you'll perform complex diagnostics, overhauls, and repairs on Caterpillar diesel-powered construction equipment.

What You'll Do as a Heavy Equipment Technician:
As a Heavy Equipment Technician, you'll be responsible for servicing heavy and light construction equipment-ranging from compact machinery to large earthmoving units. Your work ensures job sites stay productive and customers stay satisfied. Responsibilities include:
• Diagnose and repair Caterpillar diesel construction equipment
• Use Cat ET and other diagnostic tools to troubleshoot systems and components
• Perform preventative maintenance, part installations, and rebuilds
• Service hydraulic, electrical, transmission, fuel, and undercarriage systems
• Operate independently in the shop or in the field using a company-provided service truck
• Collaborate with mentors and team members for complex diagnostics

Requirements:
• Must own proper tools to perform necessary repairs
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Deep understanding of hydraulics, transmissions, fuel systems, and undercarriage components
• Experience using diagnostic systems such as Cat ET
• Prior military or heavy construction mechanic experience (Caterpillar or similar brands)
• Ability to work independently in shop or field settings
Strongly Preferred Experience:
• Welding and fabrication: MIG, arc welding, oxyacetylene, arc gouging
• Hands-on experience with hydraulic pumps, valves, and motors
• Earthmoving equipment service training via dealership, OEM, or technical schools
• Proficiency with Cat ET or competitor troubleshooting platforms
