Position Overview

This position is responsible for safely and efficiently operating motor vehicles to pick up, deliver, or transfer rental, sold, or relocated heavy equipment.

 PRIMARY JOB DUTIES*:

•    Safely and efficiently delivers and picks up equipment that has been sold, rented, or transferred. Loads and unloads equipment while ensuring proper load securement. Adheres to all NMC and customer-specific safety policies and procedures, and uses equipment and materials appropriately.  
•    Communicates regularly with dispatch and checks the work order system for delivery and pick-up instructions. Serves as a liaison between internal and external customers and dispatch to ensure accurate information is shared.  
•    Contacts customers to confirm pick-up or drop-off locations and ensures they understand how to operate the equipment.  
•    Performs daily inspections of truck and trailer, reports any potential defects, and completes basic monthly maintenance. Conducts annual DOT inspections and maintains the truck and trailer as needed.  
•    Maintains accurate daily DOT logs, recording all miles and hours driven. Submits weekly and monthly reports.  
•    Attends required safety meetings.  
•    Inspects chains and binders weekly or as needed to check for wear.  
•    Coordinates with dispatch to obtain necessary permits and flags for transporting heavy or oversized equipment.  
•    Submits expense receipts on a monthly basis. 
•    Documents by photos equipment condition during pick up and delivery.  
•    Documents any issues found during pre- and post-delivery and pickup and communicates problems to appropriate personnel.  
•    Works primarily in truck and outdoors, not in shop.  
•     If trucks are down, drivers may be asked to work in the yard for organization and general rental readiness, and other duties may be assigned.
