Experienced Professional Dog & Cat Groomer
Life With Paws – Manahawkin, NJ

Life With Paws is a growing luxury pet grooming salon dedicated to exceptional care, high-quality grooming, and a calm, positive experience for every pet that visits us.
We are looking for an experienced professional groomer who takes pride in their craft, loves working with animals, and wants to grow with a team that is building something special in the pet care industry.

Position Details

  • Full-time position
  • Possible part-time for off season (November-February)
  • 30-day paid working interview / trial perio
  • 30% commission during trial
  • Commission + tips (starting rate determined after trial)

Schedule

  • Full-time with flexible scheduling
  • Must be comfortable working weekends and evening shifts
  • Must be comfortable working select holidays (scheduled in advance)
  • Schedules are communicated ahead of time and may vary

Salon Hours:
Monday–Friday: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Saturday: 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Team members are scheduled within these hours based on salon needs.
Responsibilities

  • Professional grooming for dogs and cats
  • Breed standard and pet trims
  • Bathing, blow drying, brushing, coat preparation
  • Nail trimming, ear cleaning, grooming add-ons
  • Perform anal gland expressions independently
  • Communicate professionally with clients
  • Maintain a clean, organized grooming station
  • Assist with salon cleanliness and daily operations
  • Work efficiently while maintaining high grooming quality and pet safety

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years professional grooming experience required
  • Ability to groom a variety of breeds and coat types
  • Ability to groom 6+ dogs during an 8-hour shift
  • Experience handling dogs with varying temperament
  • Ability to perform anal gland expressions independently
  • Cat grooming experience preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in quality work
  • Reliable, professional, and team-oriented
  • Certifications preferred 
  • Must have a positive attitude towards co-workers, clients, and pets
  • Cannot be allergic to animals (dogs, cats, bunnies, etc). 

Candidates must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, remain calm under pressure, respond appropriately to stressful situations, and manage multiple dogs throughout the day while maintaining high grooming standards.
