Job description

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Staff Supply Chain Manager to lead our global sourcing activities for Thermal systems. This senior role requires a unique blend of strategic vision and hands-on execution. You will be responsible for developing the global commodity strategy while also personally leading the most critical commercial activities, including RFQs and negotiations for key suppliers. As the primary interface for Engineering, Finance, and Manufacturing, you will ensure the successful delivery of world-class products, balancing innovation, cost, and supply chain resilience.

You Will:

  • Strategy & Execution Ownership: Develop and execute the global commodity strategy for Thermal systems. You will be personally accountable for the commercial success and health of your supply base.
  • End-to-End Sourcing Leadership: Lead the entire sourcing process for strategic components-from initial supplier identification and leading the RFQ process, to conducting deep-dive cost analysis, and negotiating and executing complex contracts and statements of work.
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Serve as the primary commercial contact for strategic suppliers. Manage overall supplier relationships, performance, and development timelines, resolving critical issues that arise.
  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Partner closely with Engineering and Supplier Quality to identify and qualify suppliers that meet our technical, quality, and program timing goals.
  • Cost & Value Leadership: Utilize expert knowledge of manufacturing processes (e.g., aluminum casting/forging, stamping, plastics, thermal assembly) to build robust cost models, drive should-cost analyses, and secure best-in-class pricing and terms.
  • Program Management: Manage supplier development and parts availability for prototype builds and production ramp, ensuring on-time delivery and resolving any supply constraints.
  • Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior supply chain team members, elevating the team's overall commercial acumen.

You Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field. An advanced degree (e.g., MBA) is preferred.
  • 8-15 years of progressive, hands-on experience in Purchasing or Supply Chain, with deep expertise in Thermal Management systems (e.g., Battery Cooling, HVAC, FECM, Fluid Transfer Systems).
  • Proven track record of developing commodity strategies and personally leading complex, high-value RFQs and negotiations.
  • Expert knowledge of component manufacturing processes and sophisticated cost-modeling techniques.
  • Extensive experience with automotive part launches and serial production, with a strong understanding of product development and quality processes (APQP, PPAP).
  • Exceptional negotiation, communication, and influencing skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both internal stakeholders and external supplier leadership.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems (e.g., SAP).
  • Willingness to travel 15-25% domestic and internationally.
