To thrive as a Cast Crew member, you need a solid understanding of stagecraft, set operations, and safety protocols, often supported by experience or a background in theater production. Familiarity with technical equipment such as lighting consoles, sound boards, and stage rigging systems is typically required. Strong teamwork, communication, and adaptability help you collaborate effectively and respond to fast-paced changes during productions. What are cast crew?

Cast crew refers to the group of individuals who work behind the scenes and on stage or on set in a film, TV production, or theater performance. While the 'cast' are the actors who perform roles, the 'crew' includes everyone who supports the production, such as directors, camera operators, lighting technicians, makeup artists, sound engineers, and set designers. Both cast and crew are essential to the success of any entertainment production, collaborating to bring a story to life. The size and makeup of the cast crew can vary greatly depending on the scale of the project.

Job description

About Us

At Cast & Crew, we've empowered creativity and supported the global entertainment industry for decades. Together with our family of brands - Backstage, CAPS, Checks & Balances, Final Draft, Media Services, Sargent-Disc, and The TEAM Companies - we operate as a combined entertainment technology and services provider offering industry standard screenwriting accounting software, digital payroll products, data & reporting, and a host of creative tools. The industry continues to move faster than ever, and the need for our expertise, our technology, and our people has never been greater. We are a production's best ally every step of the way.#OneCastOneCrew

Cast & Crew is expanding its Film, Television & Streaming sales team, and we're looking for a Business Development Representative who wants to grow into a closing role. This is not a generic top-of-funnel position - you'll develop real knowledge of how productions get made, who the key players are, and how to connect the right opportunity to the right Account Executive at the right time.
You'll work across a mix of inbound and outbound motion, supporting a segment that spans major studios, mini-majors, and independent producers. If you're organized, curious about the entertainment industry, and motivated by a clear path to carrying your own quota, this is where that career starts. What You'll Do
  • Monitor and qualify inbound leads generated through marketing campaigns targeting independent producers, mini-majors, and production companies - responding quickly, assessing fit, and routing qualified opportunities to the right Account Executive with context and conviction

  • Use ProdPro, IMDbPro, and industry publications to track greenlights, new production slates, and emerging companies - turning production intelligence into outbound outreach with a real reason to connect

  • Execute targeted outbound prospecting via phone, email, and LinkedIn to production accountants, line producers, UPMs, and finance coordinators - leading with relevance, not volume

  • Validate and prioritize MQLs against territory and segment criteria before passing to AEs, so handoffs are clean and AE time is protected

  • Partner closely with two to three assigned Account Executives to support expansion into new divisions, labels, or production slates within existing studio and production company relationships

  • Maintain accurate pipeline records and prospect activity in Salesforce or HubSpot, including production status, contact history, and qualification notes

  • Participate in sales training, product education, and deal review sessions - building the consultative selling foundation you'll need when you step into an AE role

  • Bring market observations back to the team - production trends, competitive signals, and buyer feedback that help sharpen messaging and territory strategy

What You'll Bring
  • 1-3 years of experience in a sales, business development, client-facing, or production-adjacent role - entertainment industry exposure is a genuine plus, not just a nice-to-have

  • Natural curiosity about the Film, Television & Streaming industry - you don't need to have worked on a production, but you should want to understand how they work

  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to craft outreach that feels tailored, not templated

  • Comfort on the phone and in video calls - you can hold a confident conversation with a production accountant or line producer without a script

  • Organized and self-directed, with the ability to manage a large and varied prospect list across different production stages and timelines

  • Resilience and a growth mindset - you take feedback, adjust, and keep going

  • Familiarity with Salesforce, HubSpot, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, or similar tools is a plus; willingness to learn them quickly is a must

The Path Forward

This role is designed as a stepping stone to Account Executive. BDRs who develop strong production industry knowledge, demonstrate pipeline discipline, and build effective AE partnerships will be first in line when AE capacity opens within the FTVS team.
