Job description

Summary: Patrols casino premises and/or guards casino posts to maintain safety and security; prevent underage gambling and casino floor access, protect assets and ensure observance of applicable laws and casino regulations.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Responsible for practicing, supporting, and promoting Rivers Casino Philadelphia Core Values at all times
  • Practice teamwork, support fellow Team Members, and create an energized, positive work atmosphere
  • Maintain grooming and uniform standards. Overall appearance is to be immaculate and nametags are to be worn at all times, and ensure that the Security Department Team adhere to the same standards
  • Provides exceptional customer service to guests at all times
  • Be aware of and handle guest opportunities
  • Maintain daily log, i.e. time clocks, sign-in sheets when available
  • Respond to disturbances in order to defuse the incident. Be prepared to become involved in a physical confrontation when necessary. Always remain Alert
  • Observe, report, and take-action as directed by leadership with respect to all suspicious, unusual situations
  • Responds to suspicions of problem or underage gambling and alcohol or drug intoxication in accordance with established procedures and protocols
  • Contacts supervisor when security situations require intervention beyond scope of authority
  • Ensures compliance with operational procedures for activities such as guest service standards, fire prevention emergency response, guarding and patrolling the physical property, orienting and monitoring of personnel involved with gaming protection activities, and investigation of accidents and criminal acts.
  • Ensures compliance with all regulatory controls both internal and external including but not limited to state and federal labor laws and the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board regulations and guidelines.
  • Provides exceptional customer service to guests at all times.
  • Guards security post and/or patrols internal and external casino property to prevent and respond to security incidents.
  • Prevents underage gambling via access to casino floor by following identification verification procedures.
  • Responds to suspicions of problems or underage gambling and alcohol or drug intoxication in accordance with established procedures and protocols.
  • Interviews guests and employees when security incidents occur.
  • Contacts Supervisor Security when security situations require intervention beyond scope of authority.
  • Obtains assistance for accident victims.
  • Assists management and enforcement officers in emergency situations.
  • Writes detailed security reports.
  • Answers security calls and dispatches officers to assist per departmental standards and protocols.
  • Responds to emergencies in accordance with established procedures.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Six months’ related experience preferred.
  • Must be able to form and build long-standing relations with established and new guests/players.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate with team members and guests.
  • Available to work flexible shifts, weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain all necessary licensing.
Physical and Mental Demands:
  • Regularly required to see, walk, talk and hear; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
  • Ability to work in a noisy and smoky environment.
  • Must occasionally move and lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Able to work with others while maintaining a positive and professional demeanor.
