Job Description 

Description of position:
Assists members in choosing eyeglass frames. Rings up orders. Fits eyeglasses after customer order pick-up. Stocks merchandise and supplies, cleans department.
Daily tasks and responsibilities:

  • Assists members in choosing eyeglass frame and lens options. Provides and ensures prompt and courteous member service.
  • Rings up orders and over-the-counter merchandise. Receives accurate payment, makes change, processes, cheques, credit and debit charges according to proper procedures for paperwork, cash handling and performance of duties.
  • Where permitted by provincial law and under the supervision of a licensed Optician, fits and adjusts eyeglasses using frame warmer and bending with fingers. 
  • Orders equipment, merchandise, and supplies by keying into computer. Follows safety and security procedures.
  • Stocks merchandise and supplies. Follows department procedures and standards for production, record keeping, merchandising and product storage.
  • Cleans department by spraying, wiping and mopping. Empties trash, operates trash compactor and cardboard bailer.

Non-Essential Functions and Tasks:

  • Assists in other areas of the warehouse as necessary.


Qualifications (Costco-specific or industry-specific skills that candidates must possess):
Education/Training: High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Licenses/Certifications: Current Provincial license required. Registration in applicable college.
