Job Description
Aramark Canada is seeking an experienced Operations Manager, Food Services with a strong background in Senior Living, Healthcare, Hospitality, or Food Service Management to oversee dining operations and deliver an exceptional resident experience.
The Operations Manager is responsible for the overall leadership and performance of the food service operation, including financial accountability, employee engagement, client relationship management, and compliance with Aramark, regulatory, and client standards. The successful candidate will ensure a high-quality dining experience for residents while maintaining operational excellence and strong financial performance.
Job Responsibilities
  • The Operations Manager plans, administers and directs all unit activities related to food and facilities service, including Aramark and client financial accountability, and compliance with the standards established by Aramark Healthcare, regulatory agencies and client to provide optimal managed services and drive patient and customer satisfaction.
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with other departments to provide a unified food service experience for patients, residents, visitors and employees.
  • Ensures compliance to food safety, sanitation, and overall workplace safety standards.
  • Interacts with Client Management and maintains effective client and customer relations at all levels of client organization, including conducting rounding. Identifies Aramark service expansion opportunities.
  • Provides overall direction and manages performance for all employees, ensuring employee development, engagement and compliance with human resource related policies and standards, including conducting applicable rounding.
  • Directs, staffs, and trains food service department regarding food presentation, quality, cost control, and cash handling.
  • Develops operational component forecasts and is able to explain variances. Responsible for component's accounting functions.
  • Ensures compliance with all contract obligations.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive management experience in a food service, hospitality, healthcare, or senior living environment, with demonstrated success managing teams and meeting client expectations.
  • Proven experience with P&L accountability, budgeting, forecasting, and contract-managed services is required.
  • Strong ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with clients, residents, customers, leadership teams, and frontline employees.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare professional business correspondence, reports, presentations, and operational summaries with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and financial acumen, with the ability to interpret financial reports, operational metrics, and performance data to support decision-making.
  • Proven leadership, coaching, and team development skills, with the ability to foster employee engagement and drive operational excellence.
  • Ability to manage confidential employee, client, and company information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other food service or operational management systems is considered an asset.
